Welcome to spring students

This blog will help you prepare for class discussion and exams, and it will keep you up-to-date on changes to the syllabus and on issues concerning the PR profession. It's sort of the "value added" part of the course that goes beyond the textbook.

You might want to set up your own blog, to keep notes and to develop your thinking about public relations and journalism issues. And you'll need a blog to help you complete three assignments in this course.

Consider the textbook definition of public relations plus our class discussion. Gather PR definitions from these sources: www.prsa.org and www.ipr.org.uk and try Wikipedia, just for grins.

Now, combining what you have learned from these definitions, write your own definition and bring it to class. What are some of the issues raised by the differences among these definitions?
